Preferences Select Preferences... from the Edit Menu to change the following options. Editor and Window Settings 1) Use the Tab key to switch between text areas. Enable this option to use the tab key to switch between text areas. Disable it to use the tab key for others uses, such as lining up columns. 2 and 3) Auto Position Layout Tools Window Enable this option to have the layout toolbar automatically move just below any document window you activate. This is very handy if you do not have much screen space because you will not have to constantly reorganize your windows if you are working on multiple labels. Display Settings 1) Limit Screen Display to 8-Bit Color. Enable this option to have all custom graphics that you add appear in 256 colors, as opposed to thousands of millions of colors. This saves a lot of memory and is very useful if you find you are running out of memory often. Even if this option is enabled your printed labels will still use the highest quality color your printer supports. This option only affects the screen display, not the printed labels. Printer Settings 1) Print to One Page by Default. For those labels that are more than one page, such as the CD label, you can choose to print both labels to one page or to two separate pages from the Print... dialog box that appears when you choose “Print...” from the file menu. Although you can change this value at print time, it will always initially be set to the value specified by this option to make it easier for you to go through routine tasks such as printing. If you want to save a lot of paper, enable this option! When this option is enabled, the crop marks that appear around some labels will no longer appear because there is no space for them. Scanning Settings 1) Show folders on directory scan. When scanning a folder of volume by choosing Scan Volume/Folder... in the file menu, you can customize how the Ultimate Label Printer Pro inserts the file names into a label. Enable this option to have folder names displayed along with file names that are scanned. 2) Indent folder names and the files in each folder for directory listings. Enable this option to create an indented hierachical listing of the files scanned. 3) Scan “Desktop” folder if the root level of a disk is scanned. Enable this option to scan the desktop folder of a given volume. 4) Scan [N] Levels Deep. Set the number of folders to recursively scan with this option. By default it is set to 5.
